design inspiration: lupita nyong'o blue and gold

on Monday, i posted about lupita nyong'o at the oscars.  her dress!!!  oh, that color...i am still in awe with that blue.  i am calling it lupita nyong'o blue for now. 

so smitten i am that i created a mood board using her dress and the setting surrounding her  (the towering gold ocsar statue in the background, minus the lovely raspberry carpet) as inspiration.  have a wonderful weekend.  ♥dana   

monday morning feng shui: the awesome blue lupita nyong'o wore

did anyone watch the oscars last Sunday?  every year i make it a point to watch these (as a self-proclaimed movie buff); but it is the dresses and styling that keep me coming back year after year. 
 

the most memorable moment for me this year, seeing lupita nyong'o glide up to receive her oscar in that lovely, flowing goddess-like (prada) dress.  that color still has me smiling from ear to ear; she was simply stunning and no doubt will be inspiring designers in every industry around the world.  her energy = good feng shui.  she radiated light and gives hope to the belief that dreams do indeed come true. 

and, in the same week, I stumbled across this dining room design from ruthie sommers...

the colors in the room and pattern on the chairs are soft yet vibrant.  and, like lupita, walking into this room takes your breath away and yet leaves you feeling a sense of renewal along with an uplifting energy.  happy monday.  ♥dana
