southern living

paying homage to my southern-raised grandma today.  on sunday mornings she would make homemade southern buttermilk biscuits and slather on butter and grape jelly.  they would melt in your mouth and the sweetness of the jelly and creamy butter was literally heaven on earth.  she would make them without a bowl, right on top of an old wooden cutting board and use her hands to blend all the ingredients.  i loved to watch her and she finished by cutting them into circles using an old glass.  happy sunday.  xx, dana

good morning.  we are still technically on spring break but i had some things in the bag for today!  the birks because i happen to love them...they are so comfortable to just throw on and go.  these white ones make me happy for some reason.  the biscotti are like a mix of a crispy biscotti and a brownie; somewhere in between the two...perfect for a sunday treat.  much love to all, dana
